If you are looking for living room dining room combo ideas for your home, then you have come to the right place.

Having a place to entertain your guests in your home is important but also making it work with your décor is something else.  Including a dining room in a living room is the perfect combination of both.  Living room and dining room combo ideas are always a great way to get the most out of your house.

How do I combine a small living room and a dining room? If you're lucky enough to have a small living room and a formal dining room, you're faced with a rather unique challenge: how do you arrange these two rooms so that they serve their respective functions and are still comfortable enough to spend time in? This can be a tricky feat, especially if you don't want to dedicate a ton of space to both rooms, but don't have a lot of space to begin with.

Even if you have a small living room, it can still function as a living room and a dining room. Just create separate spaces within the same room. For example, you could place your dining table along one wall, leaving room elsewhere for a couch and a few chairs. Instead of placing a sofa right up against a wall, leave enough space between it and the wall so you can move around it easily. Or, if you have the room, create two separate rooms: one for the dining table, and one for the sofa and chairs.

Another issue that people confuse themselves over is whether living rooms and dining rooms matching. Your dining space and living room don't have to match. While they can be different colors, styles, and even in different parts of your house, it's important to have consistency between the two, so it doesn't feel like they're in different places completely.

There's no law that says your dining room and living room have to match. In fact, mixing things up can be a fun way to add interest to your home. Here are a few tips for bringing together two very different spaces. When you plan your new décor, make sure you carefully consider the scale of your room.

If you need to keep things small, look for furniture pieces that are more on the compact side. A coffee table is fantastic at providing flexibility while other pieces of furniture like console tables, an accent chair, an area rug, a floor lamp or simply a light fixture can all be used.

Similarly, if you have a large open concept, you'll want to go for pieces that are long and lean, like a sectional sofa. If you're looking for a way to break up the space, a room divider is an easy fix.

There are a lot of people out there that are convinced that you shouldn't mix styles in one room; that if you have a modern living dining room, that the rest of your house should be similarly modern (or vice versa). But this isn't always the case.

One of the reasons that people tend to stick to one style for the entire house is because they're not sure how to make rooms of different styles work together. That's understandable. After all, it's not always easy to find furniture that looks great in a mix of modern and traditional styles-but it isn't impossible!

Should living room and dining area be the same color? As a designer, I am often asked about decorating ideas and if rooms should be designed around color. While I love color, and I'm not against using it, I prefer to use it as just one aspect of a room's design. And, as much as I love color, there are times when I would choose neutrals over a bold color. So, when I'm asked if dining room ideas should be the same colors as the other rooms in the home, I have to say that no, it should not.

What goes into your home's design? Is it dictated by what you like, or do you think about the people who will be sharing the space with you? While you may want to go with a color scheme that you love, it's a good idea to take the preferences of your family and roommates into consideration when painting or decorating your home.

While you're thinking about what colors to use in your living room, don't forget to consider the furniture that you have and will have in the space. If you have a big sectional sofa, it might be nice to go with a color that matches the upholstery.

When designing your home, there's one aspect of a living area that can make or break its look: its transition. A transition is an open space that connects two different rooms and can include a hallway, a small space like a kitchen, or even a set of stairs. Transitions are important because they help define each room, setting the tone for the room you're about to enter, but they can also be tricky to design. Some living room ideas take transition into the dining area and then onto the kitchen island and area.
